For over 20 years, Fire Island has been my home away from home. I’ve experienced it all—season shares with strangers, weekends with friends, and impromptu stays. Yet, one constant remains: returning to a house that isn’t quite how I left it. Missing towels, wayward packages, an unbalanced pantry, a green pool, and a sweltering home, leaving me with precious time wasted fixing what should already be perfect.
